We hope you're doing well and have had a great week so far! With the weather improving once again we've got a bit of a Lager love-in for you this time around, along with some continental classics, plus a dash of juicy goodness to keep everyone happy. That means the long-awaited return to the top spot for the illustrious Newbarns, backed up by their brewing buddies (and Hartlepool heroes) Donzoko. Meanwhile, our latest instalment from DEYA is a showcase of their premier Pale Ale-making talent featuring a tonne of Steady Rolling Man, to last - what a week?!

Over on the Webshop we've got some bottled brilliance from mavericks Low Key Barrel Project and Vault City, not forgetting some Belgian belters from Tilquin that might also be gone at a moment's notice! A quick reminder that our cut-off for delivery before the Bank Holiday weekend will be midday Tuesday 31st May. Of course, if you'd rather head over in-store, we also have a fresh dose of supreme selections from our shop Managers. Think Gravity Well, Pressure Drop, Gipsy Hill, Wild Card, and more. Now, on with the show...

We're delighted to have our first delivery proper of the year from this suds supergroup, and with the sun in the sky, and the Summer in sight, who better to name our Brewery Of The Week than Leith purists Newbarns? With ex-members from Siren, The Kernel, and Beavertown there's real brewing pedigree, to say the least, and having gone from strength to strength crafting some exceptionally underrated styles, we're truly lucky to have them in the scene. And, with plenty in common with those understated Bermondsey forerunners and an aesthetic inspired by vintage Scottish brands from the 70s and 80s, bar mats, and German Lager heroes like Augustiner, quite frankly we were always going to be massive fans...

This time around we have six different sessionable slammers, led by their impeccable core range. It goes without saying their super clean Pils is not to be missed with bracing, crisp citrus notes. Delivering bountiful flavour at just 3% their zingy Table Beer pays respect to Scottish brewing heritage, and is made with Golden Promise malt and a significant proportion of oats for a full, rounded body. In addition, their latest batch of Pale Ale hopped with Idaho 7 and El Dorado boasts juicy stone fruit flavours, while still maintaining a beautiful harmony for a palate break from the often cloying NEIPAs of the world.

We always love a good Kolsch, and their zesty effort Architects Of Society in collaboration with Beers Without Beards to celebrate International Women's Day is entirely on point. Quenching, with a hint of fruity fun, this is an ideal hybrid style for the season. Brewed in collaboration with Swedish superstars Stigbergets, we also have Innkeeper, a marmaladey malt-driven Best Bitter, that's glowing nostalgia is only matched by its flavourful punch. Finally, Wheat Beer, Wit Bere (yes you read that correctly) utilises the unique Bere barley with no additional spices. Showcasing fluffy, refreshingly fruity spicy vibes from the yeast, this is an absolute winner!

As usual there's double loyalty points across our Brewery Of The Week with 10% off 6 or more online to help you get reacquainted with these cult favourites. You can sign up in-store or feel free to shoot us a message at info@claptoncraft.co.uk if you're not already part of the club!

We've had the odd Donzoko delight dotted around the shops, but having supped on many of their delectable Lagers out and about recently we just had to make it official. As such we now have a plentiful supply of Northern Helles, their flagship beauty. Using German Malt and fermented cold with a Swiss Lager yeast this is a crisp, dangerously drinkable affair. Expect a clean malt backbone with notes of sweet crusty bread and pithy lemon, finished off with a moderate amount of NZ hops for floral fun. Truly hazy, unfiltered heaven.

Meanwhile, we can't think of anything more apt than sipping sessionable English Lager in the Jubilee build-up. Garden Bier is hopped with native First Gold, Challenger, and even some hops from their own garden for a properly delicious effort. Rounding things off we have the little and large of the Rustic Lager world in Big Foam and Lil' Foam. Made with locally grown spelt and finished with a large dose of Hallertau Blanc and Astra, these both finish wonderfully with peachy, almost white wine notes, and an accompanying frothy, cloud-like head. Be sure to bask in the bready brilliance of this quartet of crispies!

We just couldn't help ourselves from diving in once again to that hazy Cheltenham water! But, what is there to say about Steady that hasn't already been said a million times? Their vision of the perfect Pale Ale is pillowy soft in body, and saturated in juicy, intense tropical fruit goodness. But, who really needs reminding... pick up a can or two before we drink it all. Reinforcing the ranks, returning great Best Foot Forward brings a touch more malty subtleness. Fresh, delicious English malted barley brings biscuit and light caramel character to the fore, while packaging at a lower carbonation perfectly replicates a pint in the pub - lush, and comforting in equal measure.

Taking note from Stone & Wood's classic Pacific Ale, Summer Ale Galaxy is sheer antipodean sunshine in a can. Crisp, yet full and drenched in Galaxy and Vic Secret hops this is lagered over a week for maximum suppability. A mouthful in more ways than one, our final beer from these legends is Cutting Steps Into The Roof Of The World, their latest IPA entry pushing mouthfeel to the extreme with a hefty amount of oats and wheat. Dry-hopped with Mosaic, Simcoe, and Strata it's a real triple threat of orange, mango, and sweet pine flavour. Cheers to that!
