We're in fine spirits this time around, and it's not just because we caught a glimpse of the sun this weekend, no - our HQ & Depot has finally opened it's doors! More on our inaugural week below, but first the small matter of a colossal amount of booze arriving through the doors. From Brew By Numbers to Belgian greats Westmalle, English trappist sensations Tynt Meadow, to manager highlights from newcomers Play Brew, Lambic legends 3 Fonteinen and Bethnal Green beauts from Boxcar the shops have never seen such an influx of diverse breweries! Of course - webshop goers needn't fret there's fresh juicebombs from Verdant and Cloudwater, plus sour sorcerers Vault City return. But now, onto this week's main event...

One of the O.G. members of the Bermondsey beer scene Brew By Numbers have been making some absolute classics in the capital since 2012. Never one to rest on their laurels, they've become renowned for their sheer diversity of output from hoppy pales, to modern saisons to luxurious dark beers, and just about anywhere in between. And, to celebrate their sheer experimentation we've got a host of absolute bangers that span the style spectrum.
Landing online and across the shops, we have something for those who like Piña Colada's (gettin' caught in the rain, optional). That's right their latest triple-fruited Gose is an ode to the Puerto Rican classic, combining the sweetness of pineapple, the silkiness of coconut and tart, zingy lime juice, all rounded off by a touch of vanilla and crisp sea salt. We're also delighted to have their trio of incredible coffee porters in collaboration with HasBean, showcasing three unique coffees from three separate continents, all with the same rich, dark base to compare and contrast. From the ripe, tropical notes of Sumava to the treacle-esque Doi Saket or the distinctly creamy citrus flavours from Rwandan Musasa this is an inventive, irresistible set!
For the hazeheads there are of course a litany of options, most notably their ludicrous Double IPA Breakfast! This DIPA utilises a double mash with significant oat, corn and wheat additions to create a monumentally thick, velvety beer imitating a fruity breakfast smoothie. Layered with Citra and Strata hops, this has intense tropical aromas with notes of sweet strawberry, juicy passion fruit and bright tangerine. In addition, their crispy clean Rustic Lager, sticky-sweet Triple IPA Mosaic & Citra, single-hopped dank Mosaic IPA and more are not to be missed, so make sure you take a peek around your local, or online to see what's on offer.
It goes without saying that we've got double loyalty points across their latest and greatest to help you get stuck in, we're pretty sure you won't regret it...

We're thrilled to showcase two unique trappist ales (brewed singularly by monks) this week! After decades of consideration the Brethren at Westmalle Abbey have finally released Westmalle Extra commercially for the first time. A golden table beer, this was originally brewed exclusively for the monks to drink with food, and it's a suitably thirst-quenching effort full of fruity, noble hop aromas, with a robust body. Featured in a recent BBC Four Doc, 'Brotherhood: The Inner Lives Of Monks', Mount Saint Bernard Abbey in Leicestershire became the first in the UK to brew a Trappist ale, Tynt Meadow, in June 2018. Brewed with English barley, hops and yeast it pours a warm mahogany with a lasting beige head. Carrying aromas of dark cacao, liquorice, and rich fruit flavours this is wonderfully balanced, with a dry malty finish, that leaves you wanting more. We wholeheartedly recommend tasting these historic brews, it's not often two spring up at once!
