We're back for another week along with some absolutely blinding drops. This time around expect the likes of favourites (and juice fiends) Verdant, DEYA & Gravity Well, plus the long-awaited return of Mobberley Brewhouse. If that somehow doesn't float your boat, we've got a restock of park nectar, Chin Chin, and new vintages of Tim Wildman's ludicrously tasty Pet Nats. A quick warning, we'll be taking a break from the Newsletter next week, but fear not there's still the insane amount of fun heading its way out to all the shops and online!

Brilliantly straddling the line between hop-forward hype, and brewers of progressive, utterly drinkable small-batch brews, we're delighted to welcome the return of Mobberley Brewhouse. Although directly inspired by breweries like Cloudwater (found on their doorstep) the Cheshire champions are making a pretty bold play of their own to break into the upper echelons of the UK scene, and on the evidence here, you probably wouldn't bet against them.
Up first, three core range crackers! Loco Juice is their signature easy drinking, super fresh Pale, and an unapologetically tropical blink and you'll miss it kind of beer, while Unchained is an ever-dependable DDH Session IPA. For those after something with a bit more of a malty backbone, Playback is a clean and classically clear West Coast IPA, perfectly designed for repeat supping.
Next up, their latest trio of juicy specials, the first Simpler Times, is an expert blend of East and West Coast IPA's, multi-layered and balanced with a beautiful pine-y, spiky citrus finish. Loose Ends arrives as the, "biggest impact low strength beer" they've ever made. Smooth and endlessly drinkable, this DDH Pale contains wave after wave of stone fruit and ripe orange notes. To cap it off, they're finally bringing back their Citra DDH IPA. Though professing our love for this hop might be a bit obvious these days, this showcase of a single ingredient, with all it's bright citrus, and floral notes is undeniably impressive. Sometimes it's best just to play the hits!
Of course, we're offering double loyalty points in store this week on Mobberley's freshest and finest! If you're yet to sign up, join in person, or shoot us an email and we can do the rest.

For our second edition of Staff Selects we spoke with reluctant Verdant fanboy, and obscure Wheat Beer enthusiast, Ella. Catch some of the highlights below or read the full chat here.
So, how did you cope with Lockdown?
It kind of flew by… I played a lot of Animal Crossing, I gave myself a tattoo (don't tell my Mom), a lot of hair-cutting, you know - manic house bullshit. Also bike-rides around London as it was so empty, that was magic, especially around the Southbank while there was no one else there.
Have you got any plans to get away, or is there a dream booze holiday in the future?
Actual New England would be amazing, or maybe a tour of French vineyards… Mexico for Mezcal would be pretty rad, can we pitch that for our next work trip? Will could catch some waves, Joe can wear his best Hawaiian shirt.
Back to reality, what have you got in the fridge at the moment?
Too many beers, Solid State, Further... Don’t tell the people I’m a Verdant hype-boi!
Have you got a go-to style, any least favourites?
I really love Wheat Beers - most recently Duration’s Quiet Song. Anything bitter I tend to avoid though, I like a West Coast but it needs to have balance.
What are your three desert island beers?
Off the record, three cold Coronas with lime (You can have three different beers!). OK. On the record, Do you remember that beer that was a mix of a DIPA and Wheat Beer from Cloudwater? (Now, And In The Future). I don’t know why I loved that beer so much. I’ll go for a nice lager too, Tegernseer Helles, Tegs. Just so crisp and clean. Finally, Lumina from Siren, easy drinking juicy boy without being overwhelming.
What's the next big thing we have to stock in Clapton Craft?
You know those hats with tubes that you can drink beer from, why aren’t we selling those?
You can read the rest of our chat here. When she’s not playing Animal Crossing Ella is repping the Falmouth juiceheads to the masses across all the shops.

We were lucky enough to host Tim Wildman for an event last year at our Finsbury Park tasting room, but when his gluggable efforts flew out, we rightly panicked - thankfully they're back and better than ever. A soft explosion of cherries and liquorice spice, Piggy Pop (ex- Heavy Petting) has a zesty lick of natural, herbal acidity typical of Nero d’Avola. Meanwhile, Rosé Astro Bunny is a creamy mouthful of grapefruit and peach sorbet, balanced by refreshingly sharp watermelon. If you're a sour or New England beer drinker get to know... immediately!

Gone are the days of going hand to mouth for some of (if not) the best New England's in the UK. We've got a truly plentiful supply of the good stuff from Verdant across the stores, with 13(!) of the finest on our online shop. The latest to join the ranks are the balanced, resinous West Coast Pigs All Day, and new crisp session quencher Combined Whimsy. Galaxy-hopped great Even Sharks Need Water completes the set, murky, thick, and joyously chewy, it's, "a packet of sherbet sweets drenched in tangy fruit layers cuddled by a comforting bready hug". Dig in!
