F A N S !

Another week, another mega drop from some of the finest in the business! While last time around we were keen to introduce some new names to the fold, this time it's all about some of our brewing besties. As such Howling Hops are back with a bang alongside No-Abv greats Big Dropnew brews from highly tipped Double-BarrelledDrop Project, another drop of the Pressure kind, as well as 5(!) new beers from Verdant. Even we might struggle to keep up with this one so read on for all the latest...

Setting up shop in Crystal Palace, just around the corner from our Forest Hill location, Drop Project quickly became a favourite of ours after a string of belters beginning late last year. A lean team composed of just three full time members, they've quickly gained real traction, and proved they can go toe-to-toe with far more established (and hyped) breweries.

On that note the epic stone-fruit sensation, Vanguard has been re-upped, alongside the sticky-sweet West Coast belter BS Salad. We've also been lucky enough to nab some limited quantities of their latest specials. Updated Kveik Pale Haakon is back and better than ever - think citrus and candied orange peel thanks to big tropical esters, with a refreshing finish. While, The Wave is a nod to the American Pale's that got us into this whole thing called craft beer. A touch of sweet Vienna Malt backed by Cascade and Chinook hops imparts floral and pine notes, while Citra adds tropical grapefruit and lime for an impossibly drinkable Pale.

Owned and ran by Luci and Mark Clayton-Jones, Double-Barrelled made their first tracks in 2015 when the couple brewed and bottled their own wedding beer. Spurred on by their enjoyment of the process, and the positive feedback from family and friends, they quit their jobs and embarked on an 85,000 mile global tour of the world's brewing (and distilling) hotspots including Bamberg, Oregon, Stockholm, and Tokyo. Upon their return, work  on commercial brewing began, and the first finished beers released at the end of 2018. We've been thoroughly impressed by their no-nonsense approach since, and their reinvigoration of both West Coast and more grown up juicy numbers, so we're delighted to present four of their latest and hoppiest!

How Often Do They Update The Internet? Was a phrase uttered by DB's crazy vegas taxi driver, as he sped down the freeway, reading a handwritten map. This clearly terrified, and inspired them in equal measure, so it's no wonder then that this West Coast IPA feels like them hitting for the fences. This uncompromising Columbus single hop brew is a suitably, piney, resinous, bitter triumph. Meanwhile, Learn A Word, Use A Word is a little more soothing of an offering, a Mosaic and Bru-1 IPA featuring sumptuous flavours of  apricot and pineapple.

The first in a new series of hazy efforts pushing the limits of their brewing techniques, Repetitive Beats is a Balearic-inspired banger with wave after wave of silky Simcoe hop goodness. Pillowy soft, and Pina Colada-esque, their unmistakable Sabro DIPA What Speed Is A Week? rounds off their set of releases in style, if you can handle this coconut creamsicle.

If you are yet to dip your toes into DB's hoppy water, we're offering double loyalty points in store this week across their range! Don't forget if you're yet to sign up you can join in person, or shoot us an email and we can do the rest.

We just couldn't resist! We've just recieved a tonne of new beers from the Hackney Wick heroes, Howling Hops - including their highly-rated latest, Meanwhile Uptown. Their first beer with Strata hops forms a glorious NEIPA packing pineapple, mango and peach flavours with a luxury-style texture. Another undeniable headliner of the week is Super Chuck, a 7.4% Summer Berry Kettle Sour using heavy-duty quantities of blackberry and blackcurrant, with a little lemon for good measure. They call this "gloopberry sillyjam fun" and it's hard to argue with this assessment of a smoothie stunner. Classics like the ultimate Session Pale Tropical Deluxe  also return, (if you haven't had this recently, right that wrong) alongside Park View, their spritzy, zingy Summer Wit.

It's no secret that we've been fans of Big Drop for a fair time now, and having instilled a dependable core-range we're delighted to see them take the approach of including exciting limited, seasonal releases. And, in this heat there's something perfect about a guilt-free midday beer that won't leave you with a sore head the next day. As well as their Citra IPA Paradiso, West Coast Pine Trail, ever-refreshing Uptown Lager and decadent milk stout Galactic, we also have Poolside a DDH IPA with citrus, herbal notes - topped off with an unapologetic slap of mango. Finally, Kodama sees honey undertones from German speciality malts topped with the Japanese hop, Sorachi Ace, and gooseberry-laden Nelson Sauvin for transatlantic sunshine in a can.
