Somehow it's August already, but if we're entering the dog days of Summer you bet we're going out with a bang slinging some sunshine-slammers to fend off the storms. As such there's a juice re-up from hop royalty in DEYA and Verdant, plus five blistering new specials from Gipsy Hill. We're taking a momentary break from your usual Brewery Of The Week service, but thankfully your nearest and dearest have got a plethora of fresh delights, with the likes of Cloudwater, Brick, Wylam and an adorable Pocket Negroni under the spotlight. Meanwhile, our Webshop reads like a who's who of hype, with beers from Wylam, Siren, Vault City, and Low Key. In general housekeeping news our Balham shop will be closed this coming Monday and Tuesday with a new floor being installed - pretty essential stuff to be fair. Otherwise we're primed and ready for you this weekend, and we can't wait to dish out some top notch bevs once again!

Delivering the hazy goods once more, we've managed to snag a healthy restock from Verdant and DEYA, and on account of how quickly you tore through them last time, this couldn't have come soon enough! The Cornish hop slingers are back with fan favourite MaryLou, that irresistibly peachy, umami-tinged, and lip-smacking Pale Ale. After an incredibly lengthy hiatus we also have a duo of returning bangers lead by all Galaxy DIPA Planets Don't Twinkle. This Australian behemoth offers up big and brash woodsy tropical flavours, though this ain't no one trick pony hop with a multi layered, intense finish. Opting for something a little softer Unlike Stars... is a succulent IPA awash with tantalising coconut, mango and zesty lime flavour.
Dropping at the end of last week, in somewhat of a mad dash we've now got a quartet of DEYA goodies on the way to all the shops, though you'll have to be speedy if you're a Wood Street or Webshop goer to catch the croc-tail end of these freshies. Catch that little lowdown again below:

Teaming up with design dons Shotopop for the second month in a row, we're delighted to have a fresh quintet of specials from South London suds selectors, Gipsy Hill. Catching our eye first is inevitably that Floc. collab DIPA, Dreamland. Brewed with an incredibly vibrant combo of Citra, Simcoe, and Motueka hops this is full of sticky mango, papaya and citrus luxury. So what exactly is a Cold IPA, and don't we already have enough IPA varietals? Well, newbie Shiver more than answers that question. An ale-lager hybrid, fermented with a clean lager yeast at low temperature allows the hop aromatics to shine through in turn marrying the drinkability and precise flavour of Lager with the crisp, herbaceous notes of West Coast IPAs.
If like us you continue to be on a sour tip (despite the incessant rain) these next two will be right up your alley. Run Nick Run is a citrus sour ale brewed with One Drop, infused with whole pulped lemon and lime - pith, peel and all this balances fresh, tart notes with just a little bitterness for maximum sessionability. The latest in their Squashed series, Pineapple Jalapeno & Lime is directly from the mind of their Senior brewer, Josh. Inspired by a trip to Texas, he fell in love with a fresh pressed pineapple juice, with a little kick! Brewed at a fruiting rate of 200g/L this jam-packed fruity fun is transferred over fresh jalapeños for minimum heat and soft aromatics. Rounding things off is something a little safer - the super Starquake, and with Gipsy Hill on a NEIPA roll, we needn't have to sell this one too much, get drinking!
