We're back with a boozy bang after our longest hiatus ever, as we hit the home stretch for 2023! Yes, that's right - somehow we're already into December, so it's festive fun and top-tier drops from here on out exclusively.

First up, that means suds supergroup Newbarns, some of the finest Lager and continental beer makers in the UK, nay the world, are back. To right the hoppy scales, paired alongside we have a vast selection from the finest purveyors of pintable juice in the land, with DEYA.

Speaking of greats, we're delighted to have Ric from The Kernel joining us for an intimate, tutored Beer & Cheese tasting event next Wednesday in Finsbury Park. Scroll on down pronto if you want to grab those last remaining tickets.

Speaking of dishing out delicious booze, our nearest and dearest distillery, East London Liquor Company will be joining us TONIGHT and tomorrow night around most of the grounds for a Free Xmas tasting. Expect pours of our own collab Whisky plus their exceptional Gins, Rums and more. Don't miss these, shopping vibes don't get any better!

It's with equal sadness and anticipation that this week marks our last drop from the Leith legends for 2023! Idiosyncratic for the current craft climate, they've carved their own path in the scene with an unwavering focus on underrated styles like crispy lager crackers and beautifully balanced, sessionable hoppy ales.

Akin to the likes of The Kernel, Burning Sky or Lost & Grounded we're incredibly lucky to have them going against the grain of the ever-turning hype release wheel. These really are beers for the heads out there who might be suffering from a little New England palate fatigue. And, with six super suppable entries including a raft of new specials, there's a lot to love!

First up, their Ginger & Lime Radler proves that Shandy's aren't just for Summer. With a fiery, sharp zing this is ideal for the all-day festive sesh. Speaking of fresh and frothy, their Lite Lager is another welcome newcomer. Crisp, and unfussy with a robust malt character this has no right to be just 3.4%. Rounding off those sessionable stunners, we, of course, have their latest batch of Table Beer. Is this as good as the Bermondsey forerunners iconic entry? You be the judge.

Next up there's a duo of primo Pilsners. First Double Pearl (named for the heritage malt) sees them team up with their Danish pals VΓ¦skebalancen. Following on, there's a long overdue return for their super hoppy Lager, Extra. Brewed this time with primo Citra and Azacca hops expect a floral, bracingly bitter affair with a distinctively green, zesty finish.

Last, but not least, we have their West Coast IPA collab with the Windsor wonders behind our own California crusher, Grizzly, in Two Flints. Bold, dry and with lip-smacking roasted tropical fruit flavour, for once we're pleased to see a 404 Error.

Be sure to sneak one in for this last call for 2023 on everything Newbarns as you'll be securing double loyalty points, while any online-goers can take advantage of 10% off 6 or more until next Friday.

Oof this one's a good 'un, as if you would expect anything else from those crafty crocs! Leading the pack we naturally have fresh Steady Rolling Man, but our left-field pick would have to be Hokum Stomp. A chewy oatmeal Porter, this is made with a complex blend of biscuit, crystal and roast grain for luscious cacao, dark fruit and a deft coffee hit.

Next, we have a twist on their house Lager, with NZ Pils lightly (and suitably) dry hopped with Motueka for bright citrus flavour, and an uber-refreshing finish. Meanwhile, fruity IPA banger Stop Making Sense sells itself really, this won't hang around!

Completing the set, we're thrilled to have a trio in It's One Of Those. Here, the same Hazy Pale is hopped with different varietals from the best hop-growing regions, in a wonderful project aiming to contrast and compare the different flavours derived from each terroir.

Their US edition features Strata, Azacca, and Citra for a dank orange and mango punchbowl while Aussie hops Galaxy, Eclipse, and Vic Secret lend tropical white grape and passionfruit. Last, but not least, the NZ entry is a showcase of Nelson, Motueka, and Pacific Sunrise for tangy lime and oozing gooseberry.

We'd be hard-pressed to choose between this bunch, so recommend you gotta catch 'em all!

Now here's something special! We're inviting you to join us from 7pm on Wednesday 6th of December (next week!) for a winter warmer like no other at the Clapton Craft Finsbury Park Taproom.

We'll have half a dozen beers from London legends The Kernel paired perfectly alongside six cheeses from across Europe, all supplied by our pals at Provisions. Led by Ric from the brewery in our intimate hideaway taproom in Finsbury Park, the evening will be as educational as it is delicious, kicking off with a welcome half of their notorious 2023 Bitter from the taps before a tour of complimentary partnerships of, we believe, the two best things on Earth.

Expect - to name a few - Stout, Saison and Pilsner; Epoisses, Bleu D'Auvergne and Comte; all expertly tutored to cater to beer buffs, cheese devotees or total beginners to both.

Welcome drinks will be poured from 7pm, with the pairing kicking off promptly at 7:30, so please don't be late, we'd hate for you to miss the fun! And, at the end of the night, you'll also have the opportunity to enjoy 10% off ALL Kernel beers to take away.

Tickets are however limited with more than half sold, so please act fast to secure your place. Simply show your order confirmation email on the night for entry. We can't wait to see you there!

East London Liquor Company's yearly shop tastings are always the absolute one. I mean who doesn't fancy a dram of something special while they peruse? As such, they'll be in the house both today and tomorrow depending on your neighbourhood joint, so peep the times below.

Unfortunately, for St John's Hill and Kentish Town goers we've had to postpone these for now, but rest assured there will be plenty of samples available.

On top of their collection of cult classics, the Bow Wharf crew will be dishing out samples of our latest Clapton Craft single cask release… an East London Single Malt finished in one of The Kernel's lauded farmhouse saison barrels.

Masters of funk, balance and floral complexity, its immediately apparent their mastery has transferred through into this bottle, and we couldn't be more pleased with the reaction since its launch in September.

Upon pouring this light, golden nectar offers aromas of caramelised apricot, subtle wild yeast, and herby clove. If that was all sounding a little too experimental, there's welcome indulgent malty goodness to keep the vibrant fruitier fun in check. Think nougat, toasted almonds, and cacao - basically a boozy liquid Mars Bar.

With only 280 bottles made, we expect at best a handful to remain post the festive rush. We know a Whisky can be a big commitment though so why not come on down, bring a friend or two, and see what all the fuss is about first!

It's great to be back & we hope to see you this weekend! - Team CC
